Showcase “Made in America” for Independence Day

With the Fourth of July holiday virtually upon us, it’s a great time to market your Made in America eyewear.  According to the Reshoring Institute, nearly 70% of U.S. citizens would prefer to buy American-made products, and slightly more than 83% of them would pay up to 20%-plus more to do so.

Here are some suggestions for making Made in America your marketing mantra for Independence Day:

1.     Prominently display your Made in America products. Rather than just mix your Made in America eyewear inventory throughout your frame board, make it stand out with an exclusive, highly visible stand-alone display and brand it as your Independence Day Collection.

2.     Shine a line on the Reds, Whites and Blues. Play up the eyewear that features these colors in your presentation, which is sure to get attention.

3.     Let your patients know the importance of Made in America. Use the statistical data that so clearly points to the preference for Made in America products, and highlight the patriotic significance of buying American-made via banners and signage.

4.     Offer patients a “Made in America” discount. “Buy our American-made eyewear and received 20% off during this special Independence Day sale.”

5.     Conduct a social media contest. Ask your patients to write a caption under your Independence Day post, or offer the three things they like most about the holiday. Tie the price back to your Made in America sales effort.

6.     Target the seniors. Older Americans tend to be more emotionally invested in patriotism. Be sure to target them with a special email newsletter to let them know of your Independence Day plans and product options. And be sure to use patriotic slogans and of course the red, white and blue.

7.     Honor local heroes. Every community has individuals who have distinguished themselves through military service or pro-U.S. initiatives. Shine the spotlight on them for your patients and, if possible, ask them to take part in an event at your office.

8.     Offer patients a “Made in America” pass-along incentive. Encourage them to invite a friend or family member to your practice to receive a special Independence Day discount thanks to them.

Throughout the course of the year, there are many opportunities to link your Made in America eyewear product to national holidays. There are many creative ways to do this and here are a few to consider:

·       Labor Day

·       Election Day

·       Veterans Day

·       Presidents Day

·       Memorial Day

·       Flag Day
